Don't get me wrong, I let my kids do it, I buy costumes for them and let them go trick or treating. It's just atleast once during the whole holiday before or after I get cranky with it. I still see things the way you do as well about Halloween. As I said, I'm kinda crabby right now.
But I DO see and agree with your points as well.

What are your kids going as?
My son the 7 year old is going as the Red Power Ranger and my 2 year old little girl is going as "Dora The Explorer". Tomorrow night I'm going to the club party as the devil.
I know what a power ranger is...hell, I went as one 2 years ago.
Not quite sure what Dora the Explorer is, but at least you wont have to be alarmed if ya get lost.
